The client’s brief was to update a shady, overgrown Spring garden and to create an impressive water feature which could be viewed from the house at the bottom of sloping lawns. Nine Scots Pines were removed and mature Rhododendrons and Camellias relocated so that the two ponds and island could be constructed. Then a new layout for lawns, planting and woodland walks were set out. A vast range of semi-mature trees, shrubs and perennial plants could then be brought in to give an ‘instant look’ to the garden. The planting now gives colour and interest all the year round. |
